Transportation

We recommend Amstar for your transportation needs. On arrival day, their airport staff will greet guests outside of the customs area. All Amstar staff will carry customized signage, and will be easily recognizable by their Amstar name badge and uniforms. Staff will facilitate the transfers and baggage to ensure an expedient departure from the airport. Once the guests depart, the airport staff will call the hotel staff to advise that guests are en route - this ensures that staff is staged and ready for your guests' arrival to their hotel.

Airport

All flights should be scheduled to arrive into Cancun International Airport (CUN). Once you arrive at Cancun International Airport you will disembark the plane and you'll be directed to passport control. You will need to hand over your tourist card(s) and passport(s) to the immigration officials. Your passport will be checked and stamped.

After passport control, you will be directed to the baggage claim area. The belt number's where your luggage will appear are displayed on screens inside the baggage claim area. Trolleys are available at this point. Once you have collected your entire luggage you can precede to the customs area. After clearing customs, you will find porters available to assist you with your luggage.

Weather

The average temperatures in Cancun range between 70 degrees Fahrenheit and 85 degrees Fahrenheit with June being the hottest month. In February, expect average daily temperatures of 82 degrees Fahrenheit and an average 9 hours of sunshine each day.

Passports

Cancun passport requirements state that a valid U.S. passport with two blank pages for an entry stamp is required when visiting Cancun. Passports must not expire within 6 months of travels

Customs

During the inbound flight, you will receive and need to fill out a customs form (Hacienda). After passing through immigration, you collect your bags and proceed to the exit. You will hand the form to the customs agent and press the button on what looks like a traffic light.

A green light means "go" and red means "inspection" in which case, officials perform a quick inspection.

As a rule of thumb you are allowed to bring into Mexico whatever you need for the time period you will be staying in Mexico. You are not allowed to bring food, fruits and/or products that are not "company" packed and sealed. And if you are bringing food or products they are allowed only if you need them because of a special diet or for medical reasons.

The same rule applies to medicine. You are allowed to bring enough medicine for the time period you will be in Mexico. If you are bringing an unusual quantity of medicine please bring a doctor's prescription just in case you need to prove the medicine is for your own consumption.
